They remain strong in the Basketbol Super Lig and Anadolu were dominant at the start of the new millennium, winning four straight titles between 2002 and 2005.
Anadolu Efes’ biggest rivals for much of their existence have been Fenerbahce Spor. This team went into 2023 as the league’s defending champions and many expect them to compete at the very top once again.
That 2022 Basketbol Super Lig win was Fenerbahce’s tenth since their first success back in 1991. Their most productive period yielded three consecutive titles between 2016 and 2018.
