Turkish League, Regular Season, Game 20

Galatasaray Medical Park shook off its elimination for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague by winning the big showdown in the Turkish League over Anadolu Efes. Galatasaray got 18 points from Josh Shipp and 16 points plus 6 assists from Jamon Lucas in a 65-74 road win to take over the top spot in the league. Galatasaray improved to 16-3, while Efes dropped into a tie for second place along with Banvit BK at 15-4. Galatasaray used a strong second quarter to move ahead 34-43 by halftime, but the hosts rallied to within 57-60. However an unsportsmanlike foul by Sinan Guler on Jaka Lakovic allowed Gala to regain control and the visitors held on the rest of the way. Lakovic finished with 11 points for the winners. Kerem Tunceri led the hosts with 14 points and Sasha Vujacic added 12 in defeat. Banvit bested Tofas 70-78 for its 15th win. Banvit jumped out to a 32-44 halftime lead and cruised the rest of the way. Keith Simmons scored 16 and Chuck Davis 14, while Baris Ermis added 9 points and 7 assists to lead Banvit. Besiktas coasted to a 105-84 shelling of Mersin Bsb. Carlos Arroyo and Pops Mensah-Bonsu scored 18 points apiece for the black-and-white. Fenerbahce Ulker edged Turk Telekom 76-78 for its 14th win and to remain within striking distance of the leaders. Bojan Bogdanovic peppered the nets for 22 points, Emir Preldzic posted 14 points and 7 assists and James Gist tallied 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners.
